More Than a Licence
Our motorcycle training courses in North Somerset and Bristol are designed to give you more than a test pass.
We give riders the time, coaching and on-road experience needed to develop genuine control, confidence and roadcraft. You will work on the skills that matter: clutch control, balance, all round control of the motorcycle, independent use of the brakes at a variety of speeds up to the national speed limit, observation skills, positioning, use of speed, sound judgement and calm decision-making on real roads.
At Gordano, we do not believe in shortcuts. We are calm, thorough and highly experienced, our training is tailored around you.
We want you to pass your tests — but more importantly, we want you to ride well after you pass.
Our Courses
Our New Rider Scheme where it all begins – £525 – is the best starting point for new riders who want to learn properly.
It includes:
- Gordano Introductory Riding Course
- Gordano CBT Course
Together, these form a structured route into motorcycling, giving you time to develop the basics before moving on to full licence training.
Once you have completed our New Rider Scheme with CBT, you can progress towards either:
- further practice on a 125cc motorcycle with L plates
- the Direct Access Scheme (DAS) for a full category A motorcycle licence
- the A2 motorcycle licence – motorcycle restricted to 47 bhp
Our ultimate course – Private Direct Access Tuition: £3,995
This is a premium, training option for riders who want unlimited, high-quality tuition.
This includes bespoke tuition from Paul, with training time provided until the new skills are properly secure — and until Paul is confident that you are ready — to take your tests with secure skills and to a high standard. Having the ability to take an advanced riding test straight after this course is a strong likelihood.
You will receive:
- structured and progressive coaching with Paul
- unlimited high-quality training time within the course
- effective preparation for both Module 1 and Module 2
- approximately 12 days of safe and calm training
- Module 1 mock test
- 2 x Module 2 mock tests
- free training support if you need to retest
- The DVSA Enhanced Rider Scheme course and certificate after gaining your full licence
- The 2 day Get Cornering course after you have achieved your full licence
- Preparation and assessment for a RoSPA advanced motorcycle test (Paul is a RoSPA Advanced Motorcycle Instructor)
- This course is designed to help you reach a much higher level than an average test pass. The aim is not simply to get you through the tests, but to give you the safest and strongest possible start to your motorcycling life. The benefit to your long term skills and safety can’t be underestimated.
- The first six months after passing the Module 2 are recognised as the most vulnerable period for new licence holders. This course is built with that and a great deal more in mind.
The Route to a Full Motorcycle Licence
The route to a full motorcycle licence can look complicated at first, but it is easier to understand when broken into five stages:
- Learn to ride a geared 125cc motorcycle
- Complete CBT
- Pass the Motorcycle Theory Test
- Complete Module 1
- Complete Module 2
CBT and Theory can be completed in either order.
Motorcycle Licence Categories
There are three main licence routes:

All licence categories require CBT, Theory, Module 1 and Module 2.
